My Vision Board + How to Make One

IMO it is never too late in the year to create a vision board. I think it’s very important to stay focused on personal improvement on all areas of life and to strive towards creating a better quality of life in all areas.

Creating a vision board will help you stay focused on your goals, stir your imagination and creative thinking, increase your motivation for working towards what you want and keeps them top of mind.

^^Here is my current vision board for reference/inspiration for your own (I definitely need to swap out some of the style inspo images for more spring appropriate weather).

How to create your vision board:

Step 1 – Figure out what you want out of life and why.

Brain dump what you want to accomplish this year and beyond.

Take out pen and paper (this is hands down going to work so much better than if you choose to instead use your phone, tablet or laptop, trust me).

Be sure to ask yourself why accomplishing those things are important to you.

What will those things make you feel? What feeling are you after and why?

Step 2 – Find images that remind you of your goals.

Go to Pinterest and search things related to your goals. Think of images that encapsulate the visual of your goals. Here are some examples of what to search for…

  • vision board ideas
  • (insert your goals) aesthetic
  • vision board pictures
  • beautiful life
  • affirmations

Tip: You can also add the word ‘aesthetic’ at the end of each search term and find more curated images.

Step 3 – Dump all the images into Canva.

Go to Canva.com (create a new account or login) and open up a new design in this size: 2,000 x 1,280 px.

Copy the images into your new design.

Move them around, crop and/or resize images as needed and play around with it until it starts to look how you like it.

Remove the background if need be (click on the photo, tap edit photo and click on BG remover).

Step 4 – Save and download your design.

You can save it as a screensaver on your desktop or in a Notion page dedicated to tracking your goals. I personally like to use TickTick!

Another thing you can do is resize your design to (1080 x 1920 px ) if you wanted to use it as a phone wallpaper. Keep in mind you will have to move around your images for this.

I hope this post inspired you to start creating your own vision board! I’d love to see what you come up with! Tag me in your stories or email them to me! See you in my next post!

xo, Kristen
