My Vision Board + How to Make One

IMO it is never too late in the year to create a vision board. I think it’s very important to stay focused on personal improvement on all areas of life and to strive towards creating a better quality of life in all areas.

Creating a vision board will help you stay focused on your goals, stir your imagination and creative thinking, increase your motivation for working towards what you want and keep them top of mind.

Why create a vision board in the first place?

To me, I love looking at a vision board especially one that I created that encompasses what I am working towards. It is very motivating and a great reminder of what my goals are and who I need to be.

You are 42% more likely to achieve your goals when you write them down vs. not writing them down. Reflecting on and keeping your goals front of mind consistently increases those chances. A vision board serves as a perfect reminder of who you want to be and what you want to accomplish.

You need to get very clear on what you want out of life and where you want to go and who you want to be. Once you are clear on that and you have it written down somewhere, you can create a vision board that encompasses that.

Look over your goals and your vision board on a daily basis and start reminding your brain and your subconscious of what you’re working towards.

I recently came across a TikTok of this girl talking about how you need to shift your focus from Have, Do, Be to Be, Do, Have. So many people think in order to do the things they need to do to BE the person they want to become they have to HAVE certain things first or HAVE the right knowledge or skills or assets or circumstances in order to DO. You will never accomplish anything or get anywhere in life with that mindset. You will forever remain stuck. What you need to do is shift it to BE, Do, Have. In order to have what you want out of life, you need to BE that person right now, today and DO what needs to be done so that you can HAVE what you desire or are pursuing out of life. I hope this makes sense!

Here is my most recent, updated vision board I created for the rest of 2024 and into 2025:

And here are past vision boards I’ve created:

I created this one right before we found out we were pregnant with baby #2! I added a photo of a pregnant woman and a gender reveal cake / announcement photo in this vision board.

How to create your vision board:

Step 1 – Figure out what you want out of life and why.

Brain dump what you want to accomplish this year and beyond.

Take out pen and paper (this is hands down going to work so much better than if you choose to instead use your phone, tablet or laptop, trust me).

Be sure to ask yourself why accomplishing those things are important to you.

What will those things make you feel? What feeling are you after and why?

Step 2 – Find images that remind you of your goals.

Go to Pinterest and search things related to your goals. Think of images that encapsulate the visual of your goals. Here are some examples of what to search for…

  • vision board ideas
  • (insert your goals) aesthetic
  • vision board pictures
  • beautiful life
  • affirmations

Tip: You can also add the word ‘aesthetic’ at the end of each search term and find more curated images.

Step 3 – Dump all the images into Canva.

Go to Canva.com (create a new account or login) and open up a new design in this size: 2,000 x 1,280 px.

Copy the images into your new design.

Move them around, crop and/or resize images as needed and play around with it until it starts to look how you like it.

Remove the background if need be (click on the photo, tap edit photo and click on BG remover).

Step 4 – Save and download your design.

You can save it as a screensaver on your desktop or in a Notion page dedicated to tracking your goals. I personally like to use TickTick!

Another thing you can do is resize your design to (1080 x 1920 px ) if you wanted to use it as a phone wallpaper. Keep in mind you will have to move around your images for this.

I hope this post inspired you to start creating your own vision board! I’d love to see what you come up with! Tag me in your stories or email them to me! See you in my next post!
